WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester State University cheer team delivered a strong showing on the national stage earlier this month, finishing fifth in the Intermediate Small Coed Division III category at the 2026 NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The National Cheerleaders Association College Nationals is one of the most prestigious collegiate cheerleading championships in the country, bringing together programs from across the U.S. to compete in divisions based on school size and team structure. The event is known for its high-level routines, judged on difficulty, execution, synchronization, and overall performance.
Worcester State’s fifth-place finish puts the Lancers among the top Division III programs nationally. The team left with a event score of 87.6759, according to official results. The team also took third place in the prelims during the competition.
The result adds to a strong competitive season for Worcester State cheer, which also regularly participates in major regional and national competitions throughout the year, including events hosted in Massachusetts and other parts of the Northeast.
