The National Retail Federation said its annual Mother’s Day survey shows that 63 percent of respondents plan a special outing, such as dinner or brunch, for Mother’s Day. After flowers and greeting cards, a meal out is the third most popular way to celebrate the holiday.
Americans are projected to spend approximately $6.4 billion on special outings and meals this year, a figure surpassed only by the $7.5 billion expected to be spent on jewelry, according to the survey.
