Worcester Man Accused Of Stealing $2K In Scratch Tickets From Store

Police also said he was wanted in connection with a separate breaking-and-entering incident on Russell Street last month.

WORCESTER — A 34-year-old Worcester man is facing multiple charges after police say he broke into a Park Avenue convenience store early Wednesday morning and stole more than $2,000 worth of scratch tickets along with cigarettes and sodas.

Worcester Police officers responded to the store around 4:26 a.m. on May 6 after an alarm was triggered, according to police. When officers arrived, they found the store’s front door shattered with glass scattered across the ground.

Police said surveillance video showed a man entering the store and stealing the items.

About two hours later, around 6:13 a.m., officers spotted the suspect on Foster Street heading toward Washington Square. Officers stopped the man and found him carrying a bag from the store containing scratch tickets, soda and cigarettes, police said.

Dillon Gloss-Porzio, 34, was arrested and charged with larceny over $1,200, breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony and vandalism.

Police also said Gloss-Porzio was wanted in connection with a separate breaking and entering incident on Russell Street on April 21. The arrest comes one day after Worcester Police shared surveillance images Tuesday seeking the public’s help identifying a man connected to a recent break-in at a Russell Street business.
