WORCESTER COUNTY, MA — A large lottery prize was sold at a store in Worcester County this week.
A $1 million prize was sold at Appletown Market at 9 Main St. in Sterling on Tuesday. The prize was won from the Massachusetts State Lottery's LOTERIA scratch-off game.
This is the first $1 million prize won from the LOTERIA game. To win, a player must match four symbols in any complete line on the playing board.
There are still two $1 million prizes remaining. The odds of winning a prize that large from this game are one in over 2.6 million.
Another major prize was won in Worcester County this week. A lucky individual purchased a $100,000 ticket at a Citgo Mart in Worcester on Monday. The prize was won from the Massachusetts State Lottery's Diamond Deluxe scratch-off game.
The state lottery commission did not share who won the prize, but the retailer that sells a winning ticket typically receives a bonus from the Lottery.
