WORCESTER, MA — A beloved bakery in the city is seeking licensing to open another location.
Crust Bakeshop is seeking approval for a Common Victualler License for a new location at 372 Chandler St., according to an application scheduled for a hearing before the Worcester License Commission next week.
According to the filing, the proposed business would operate daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Crust Bakeshop currently operates two Worcester locations at 118 Main St. and 1 West Boylston St.
The bakery, café and restaurant is known for its artisan breads, pastries and sandwiches made with simple, high-quality ingredients.

Owner Alexis grew up working at her family’s longtime Worcester business, George’s Coney Island Hot Dogs. She purchased Crust in January 2017 after previously working at the bakery, according to the business's website.
Since taking ownership, Alexis and her husband Nate have steadily expanded the business across Worcester.
In 2017, they opened North Main Provisions, a specialty wine, cheese and provisions shop next to Crust. In 2021, they opened a second Crust Bakeshop location at 1 West Boylston St. and also expanded the original Crust Main location into North Main Provisions.
In 2022, they purchased BirchTree Bread Company, expanding their bakery and café offerings while adding breakfast, lunch, dinner, pizza and full-bar service.
The Worcester License Commission is scheduled to consider the application during its May 14 meeting.
