Worcester Schools Honor Educators, Name Worcester Tech Principal Of The Year

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester Technical High School Principal Drew Weymouth has been named Worcester Public Schools’ 2026 Principal of the Year as part of the district’s annual Vision to Action Awards ceremony.

The awards, hosted May 11 at Worcester Technical High School, recognized more than 50 educators and staff members across the district for their dedication and contributions to Worcester schools.

Weymouth received the district’s top principal honor during the ceremony, which also recognized Taylor Nunez of the Gerald Creamer Center as Educator of the Year.

“The Vision to Action Awards represent the district’s dedication to celebrating those who go beyond the classroom to help shape the future of Worcester,” Superintendent Brian E. Allen said in a statement. “This gathering of staff and community members from across the district served as a powerful reminder of the collective passion and professional excellence within the Worcester Public Schools.”

Worcester Tech history teacher Mike Metivier was also recognized as the school’s Vision to Action Award recipient.

In addition to school-based awards, the district honored five central office and administrative staff members with Visionary Leader Awards: Financial Analyst Akshay Guru Rajkumar, Research & Evaluation Specialist Andrew Lampi, Contract Coordinator Kelly Loiselle, Supervisor of Special Education Brittney Lucibello and Supervisor of Transportation Angel Carrasquillo.

The annual Vision to Action Awards celebrate educators, administrators and support staff members who demonstrate leadership and commitment to students and the district community.
