WORCESTER, MA — A Millbury man was charged after police said he was involved in a break-in and vandalism incident in the city.
Anthony Chiaravallotti, 37, is facing multiple charges after Worcester police responded to a home on Holden Street for a report of an attempted breaking and entering at around 2 a.m. Friday.
When officers arrived, they observed a broken window at the residence. An investigation determined the suspect allegedly used a shovel to break the window before entering the garage, where a refrigerator was also damaged, according to police.
Officers reviewed video footage of the suspect and located Chiaravallotti nearby.
He was arrested and charged with felony nighttime breaking and entering and vandalizing property.
This comes just one day after Worcester police warned residents to lock their vehicles after a recent cluster of break-ins in the city.
Several vehicles in the Route 4 area have been targeted in recent weeks, with many of the cars left unlocked, according to police. Police did not share the exact locations of the break-ins, but said the incidents serve as an important reminder for residents to always lock their car doors and avoid leaving valuables inside.
