WORCESTER, MA — A man has been charged after Worcester police say detectives found two large bags of cocaine on him during a drug investigation Thursday afternoon.
Comal Warburton, 43, is facing multiple drug charges after detectives recovered cocaine, while two other men are facing drug possession charges in connection with the same incident, according to the Worcester Police Department.
Members of the WPD Vice Squad observed a suspected drug transaction on Chandler Street around 12:15 p.m. Thursday. Police said officers watched the suspected buyers and dealer drive away from the scene.
Officers later stopped a Maserati on Newton Avenue North, where two men exited the vehicle.
Police said one of the men was holding a bag of crack cocaine before officers placed him in handcuffs. The second man was allegedly in possession of a crack pipe. Both men, whose names were not released, were charged with Possession of a Class B Substance.
Vice detectives also stopped a Kia and spoke with a man later identified as Warburton. Detectives found two large, knotted bags of cocaine on his person, according to police.
Warburton was arrested and charged with Distribution of a Class B Substance and Possession of a Class B Substance With Intent to Distribute, police said.
