WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man who is accused of collecting more than $47,000 in pandemic unemployment benefits while working full-time as a TSA security officer has been sentenced in federal court, according to the U.S Attorney's Office.
Ismael Rosado Jr., 40, was sentenced in Boston to three years of probation and was ordered to pay $47,526 in restitution. Rosado pleaded guilty in February 2026 to one count of wire fraud after being charged in December 2025. Federal prosecutors had recommended a sentence of four months in prison followed by one year of supervised release.
Rosado worked full-time as a TSA Security Officer at Boston Logan International Airport from November 2018 through October 2021, according to court information. But between May 2020 and September 2021, he submitted a Pandemic Unemployment Assistance application and weekly certifications claiming he was unemployed and had no income.
Based on those false claims, Rosado received $47,526 in unemployment benefits to which he was not entitled, according to prosecutors.
