WORCESTER, MA — A local team is hosting a fundraiser exhibition game this weekend for basketball fans, families and community members.
The Worcester Majors will face the New England Suns at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Forest Grove Middle School, 495 Grove St. Tickets are $10, and children may attend for free.
The Majors are Worcester’s semi-professional basketball organization and play in the American Basketball Association. The team focuses on basketball, youth development and community outreach, according to the organization.
The exhibition game is part of the Majors’ effort to build community through basketball, create opportunities for local youth, and strengthen support for the team’s mission in Worcester.
“Basketball has always been a way for us to connect with the community,” the Worcester Majors organization said.
The team said the fundraiser is meant to support its work around local basketball, youth opportunities and community outreach in Worcester.
The Majors describe their organization as being built around discipline, heart, community and brotherhood, with a focus on representing Worcester on and off the court.
