WORCESTER, MA — Beaver Brook Dog Park in Worcester will close temporarily this week while crews complete more renovation work, city officials said.
The closure is expected to begin Thursday, Jun. 11 and last until on or before Jun. 30, according to a public notice from the city.
The dog park is inside Beaver Brook Park at 300 Chandler St. and is located next to the Beaver Brook Community Building on Mann Street, with accessible parking from the Chandler Street lot.
The off-leash dog park opened in October 2017 as the city’s second dog park. The roughly 17,000-square-foot area is fenced, double-gated and split into separate sections for smaller and larger dogs, according to the city.
The closure follows a larger city dog park renovation project announced in October.
Improvements planned for Beaver Brook included new pea and rice stone surfacing, benches, trash receptacles, a water bottle filling station and solar lights, according to a city announcement. The city’s bid page for the project listed Jam Corporation as the awardee for the work, with a bid price of $362,109.
