Spirit Halloween To Open At Former Worcester Supermarket

WORCESTER, MA — The home of a former supermarket will become a seasonal shop for Halloween costumes and decorations.

Spirit Halloween plans to open at the former Stop & Shop location at 545 Lincoln St., Suite 8, according to the company's store locator. The retailer said the store will open in August but has not announced an opening date or hours.

Spirit Halloween operates seasonal locations in shopping centers and malls across North America, selling costumes, decorations, animatronics and Halloween accessories.

The Lincoln Street supermarket was one of 32 underperforming Stop & Shop stores that closed in fall 2024. The company also closed its Shrewsbury location on Boston Turnpike at that time.

Stop & Shop continues to operate Worcester stores at 940 W. Boylston St. and 949 Grafton St.
