WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Police Department is now accepting applications for a free program offering residents a closer look at police operations.
The 2026 Civilian Academy will run for eight consecutive weeks from Sept. 9 through Oct. 28, with classes held Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. at police headquarters, 9-11 Lincoln Square. A graduation ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 4.
The program is intended to build trust, collaboration and stronger partnerships between police and the community.
Completed applications must be emailed to WPDAcademy@worcesterma.gov or delivered to Worcester Police Department staff by Aug. 30. Applicants will undergo a records check to determine their suitability for the program and will be notified if accepted.
