WORCESTER, MA — One lucky Massachusetts Lottery player won a large prize after buying a ticket in the city.
A winning $1 million ticket was purchased at Corner Store in Worcester on Monday. The prize was won from the Massachusetts State Lottery's "LOTERIA" game.
To win, a player must match four symbols in a complete horizontal or vertical line. Matching all four symbols earns the prize shown for that line.
The odds of winning the top prize in "LOTERIA" are one in more than 2.6 million, according to the state lottery.
The state lottery commission did not share who won the prize, but retailers that sell a winning ticket typically receive a bonus from the Lottery.
Another $1 million prize was sold in Worcester County last week. A winning ticket was sold at Highland Farms in Whitinsville from the "Keno" game.
