LEOMINSTER, MA — One lucky lottery player in Worcester County won a massive lottery prize last week.
A lottery ticket worth $500,000 was sold at 76 Food Mart at 76 Main St. in Leominster. The prize was won from the Massachusetts State Lottery's "Big Blue Cashword 2026" game.
To win, a player must uncover at least two complete words in either Cashword puzzle using the revealed letters, with prizes determined by the prize key. A winning word spelled entirely in blue letters doubles the prize, while a prize amount revealed in the Bonus Box is won automatically.
The odds of winning the top prize in Big Blue Cashword 2026 are one in 3.78 million, according to the state lottery.
The state lottery commission did not share who won the prize, but retailers that sell a winning ticket typically receive a bonus from the Lottery.
Another lottery prize was sold in Worcester County last week. A winning $1 million ticket was purchased at Corner Store in Worcester on Monday. The prize was won from the Massachusetts State Lottery's "LOTERIA" game.
