WORCESTER, MA — A popular halal street-food spot is open in downtown Worcester for a new weekday lunch operation.
Chicken & Rice Guys, a Boston-based food truck, eatery, and catering business specializing in Middle Eastern halal street food, is now serving customers from Cafe Nexus at 6 Waldo St. in Worcester. The business is open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Worcester operation is being tested for the next few months, according to the Worcester Business Journal, which first reported the story.
Chicken & Rice Guys' menu includes halal chicken, beef and lamb gyro and tofu served over rice, in a salad or with pita. Combination plates, hummus, baklava and several sauces are also available.
The company lists the Worcester site among its restaurant locations. It also operates restaurants in Boston and Everett, along with food trucks and a catering business.
The company began with one food truck in 2012 before expanding to multiple restaurants and a fleet of trucks, according to its website.
