WORCESTER, MA — A motorcycle crash early Sunday on Belmont Street led to drug trafficking charges against a 31-year-old man, Worcester police said.
Officers responding to the crash shortly after 3 a.m. found a vehicle with significant front-end damage and a motorcycle, police said. During efforts to identify the motorcycle operator, officers searched a bag that emergency medical personnel had cut off him and found individually wrapped bags of suspected drugs and a large amount of cash.
The motorcyclist, identified as Justin Lacombe, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police said Lacombe had a suspended license and three outstanding warrants.
Lacombe was charged with trafficking heroin and trafficking fentanyl. He was also held on the outstanding warrants, according to police.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
