WORCESTER, MA — Dog owners will temporarily lose access to part of a Worcester dog park while crews complete another round of renovations.
Beaver Brook Dog Park's large-dog section will close for work expected to begin Monday, the city announced over the weekend. The project is scheduled to take 14 calendar days, weather permitting, while the small-dog section will remain open.
The approximately 17,000-square-foot dog park is next to the Beaver Brook Community Building on Mann Street.
The city did not provide an exact starting date or reopening date in the notice.
The work follows a larger renovation project that began in November 2025. That project included new stone surfaces, benches, trash receptacles, a water bottle filling station and solar lights, according to an earlier city announcement.
The upcoming work is expected to address concerns about stone installed during that project, relocate play equipment and add grass, according to the Telegram & Gazette. The newspaper reported that the city has committed nearly $450,000 to the park improvements, including the original project and subsequent change orders.
