WORCESTER, MA — One lucky Massachusetts Lottery player won a large prize after buying a ticket in the city.
A winning $200,000 ticket was purchased at K J Barrons Fine Wine & Spirit, 730 W. Boylston St., in Worcester on Monday. The prize was won from the Massachusetts State Lottery's "$15,000,000 Magnificent Millions" scratch-off game.
To win, a player must match any of their numbers to any winning number. The odds of winning a prize that large are one in 168,000, according to the state lottery.
The state lottery commission did not share who won the prize, but retailers that sell a winning ticket typically receive a bonus from the Lottery.
Several other winning lottery tickets were purchased in Worcester on Monday, with the second-largest being a $10,000 prize sold at a Price Chopper location.
The Massachusetts State Lottery publishes a daily list of winning tickets sold throughout the state on its website. You can find it here.
