SHREWSBURY, MA — A Worcester man is facing charges after officers said they found him inside the upstairs bedroom of a Main Street home Tuesday morning.
Christopher Perez, 32, faces two counts of breaking and entering with intent to commit a misdemeanor and two counts of trespassing, according to the Shrewsbury Police Department. The charges follow reports of two break-ins and one attempted break-in on Main Street over the last week.
The first incident was reported after a homeowner saw security footage of a person attempting to enter the home at about 5:17 a.m. Sept. 29, police said.
A different homeowner contacted police on Monday to report a break-in earlier that morning. And on Wednesday, a third resident in the area reported seeing a suspicious person on security footage from the previous night.
Officers responding to investigate the third report discovered that another nearby home had been broken into, according to police. While searching the house, officers found Perez in an upstairs bedroom and arrested him, police said.
The two break-ins and attempted break-in remain under investigation. Officers Samuel, E. Sloan and Juaire, Detective Chysna and Sgt. M. Sklut assisted with the arrest, police said.
