WORCESTER, MA — Worcester's annual fall leaf collection program will begin next month, the Department of Public Works announced Tuesday.
Weather permitting, crews expect to complete collection across the city within four to five weeks. The schedule, which will begin on Nov. 1, will follow trash collection routes, beginning with Wednesday's route.
Streets will be posted before collection, and a temporary parking ban will take effect while crews are working. Vehicles left on posted streets will be ticketed.
Residents should wait until collection signs are posted before pushing leaves from sidewalks and properties into the street gutter. Leaves should be placed in the gutter shortly before collection begins or during the preceding weekend.
Collection will not take place on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26 or Friday, Nov. 27.
The collection schedule and additional information are available on the city's Fall Leaf Collection webpage.
Residents may also bring leaves to the city's yard waste disposal sites without an appointment:
