Another Worcester Temperature Record Falls In February
For the second time in a week, warm temperatures have smashed recent records, according to the National Weather Service.

WORCESTER, MA — For the second time in one week, Worcester has broken a daily temperature record.
The temperature hit 65 degrees on Wednesday afternoon, breaking the old Feb. 23 record set in 2017 of 64 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Last Thursday, Worcester hit 59 degrees, breaking the previous Feb. 17 record set in 1981 when the thermometer hit 56.
In an odd twist, the high temperature was recorded with a winter storm watch looming. Worcester could see up to 12 inches of snow by Friday due to an approaching storm. That also means temperatures will drop rapidly, with lows expected to hit 19 degrees overnight into Thursday.
