Arrest Made In Tuesday's Fatal Shooting In Worcester: Report
Police also identified the 21-year-old victim of the shooting at 15 Oread St. in Worcester.
WORCESTER, MA — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old woman in Worcester Tuesday. Djarflo Irving, 37, was arrested Tuesday night on charges of manslaughter, carrying a firearm without a license, and possession of ammunition without a license, according to reports.
Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to 15 Oread St. for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found 21-year-old Suheill Ortiz suffering from a gunshot wound, Fox25 Boston reports. Ortiz was transported to a nearby hospital where she died.
The building where the shooting happened is reportedly a 12-unit home for people who can't afford apartments. According to the Worcester Telegram, 11 drug overdoses happened at the address between September 2016 and August 2017.
