WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police have arrested a 37-year-old Vernon Street resident in connection to the December double-homicide outside the former Diamond Inn bar.

Police arrested Christopher Burns at his home early Wednesday morning on murder charges, plus gun law violations, the department reported.

Brothers James Michael Johnson Jr. and Marcus Thibodeau were shot and killed outside the Grafton Street bar near 2 a.m. on Dec. 8. The two men were celebrating Thibodeau's 27th birthday when they were shot.

Worcester police found the men outside the bar on the sidewalk in the aftermath of the shooting. They were both pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The Diamond Inn closed in the wake of the shooting. It has reopened with a new owner as Beth's On Grafton Hill.
