AUBURN, MA — Auburn police arrested a man Tuesday after they say he called 911 and made "terroristic threats." There was a report that the incident involved an "active shooter," though police said that was unfounded. Police did not clarify where the man made the threats from.

According to MassLive, the man was identified as Andres Olivencia of Worcester and was brought to court Tuesday after the incident. He was charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and threats with serious public alarm. The outlet also reported that Olivencia called police claiming he had a gun and gave a description of his clothes. When police arrived he was unarmed and told them he made up the gun and wanted "emergency mental health" help.

The report resulted in the mall being evacuated and a “soft lockdown” of nearby Auburn High School. Superintendent Maryellen Brunelle told parents in an automated voice message that classes continued and no students were in danger.

Auburn is in Central Massachusetts near Worcester.
