'Black Panther' Filming In Worcester: 5 Days Of Street Closures

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" will literally take over Worcester this week with street closures across the downtown area.

WORCESTER, MA — Film crews will take over a slew of streets in the downtown Worcester area over the next five days to shoot scenes for the Marvel Studios sequel "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

And that means drivers and pedestrians may run into traffic trouble as crews close streets and sidewalks for the movie, which is set to premiere next summer. Almost all of the work will take in the evening and overnight hours. The movie has also been filming scenes in Cambridge under the title "Summer Break."

Here's what will be closed during the "Black Panther" filming in Worcester between Aug. 25 and Aug. 30:

Aug. 25, 26, 27, 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.; Aug. 29, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Full closure: Main Street between Highland and Exchange streets; School Street between Major Taylor Boulevard and Main Street; George Street between Commercial and Main streets; Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between Commercial and Main streets; State Street between Harvard and Main streets.

Aug. 27, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Full closure: Grove Street between Salisbury and Highland streets; Prescott Street between Salisbury and Faraday streets. Temporary closure: Salisbury between Tuckerman and Lincoln streets.

Aug. 28, 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Full closure: High Street between Austin and Chestnut streets; Chatham Street between Main and Irving streets.

Aug. 28, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Main Street between Franklin and Federal streets.

Aug. 28, 29, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Full closure: Walnut Street between Chestnut and Main streets; Eden Street between Walnut and 20 Eden St.; Sudbury Street between Main and Harvard streets; Maple Terrace.

Aug. 30, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Full closure: Ernest A. Johnson Tunnel between Salisbury and School streets.
