Body of Missing 68-Year-Old Found In Worcester Basement

68-year-old Marcelino Mueces went missing in February.

WORCESTER, MA- Police discovered the body of a missing Worcester man in the basement of a Penn Avenue home.

Marcelino Mueces, 68, was reported missing on Feb. 19. Police found his car on Villa Nova Street on Feb. 26 but still had not found Mueces. Their investigation lead to a search warrant for a home at 24 Penn Ave. on March 2, police said.

A Sergeant from the Crime Scene Unit found human remains in the basement and the body was identified as Marcelino Mueces. An autopsy was done but the official ruling for the cause of death is still pending, according to police.

Police arrested Thomas Garon, 53, of Worcester and charged him with Disinterment of a Body, Identity Theft, and Misleading a Police Investigation.
