Bronx Man Arrested For Heroin Trafficking In Worcester
Police found 50 knotted bags of heroin in a cigar box.

WORCESTER, MA—A man from the Bronx is facing charges after police find a cigar box filled with 50 bags of heroin in the woods.
Around 4:30 p.m. on June 20, Worcester police got a tip that a suspicious item was left in the woods near Gage Street. Police responded, and turns out, that suspicious item was a cigar box filled with 50 knotted bags of heroin with a street value of about $2,000.
According to police, some drug dealers leave drugs in specific public locations, and tell their buyers where to find the drugs. This avoids a hand-to-hand transaction that might attract the attention of area residents and the police. Police put the drugs back in the location and set up surveillance.

Almost immediately, they saw a white Chevy Cruz slowly circling around the area, with the operator looking around in all directions. The driver, later identified as Waldemar Grullon-Rojas, 20, of Bronx, NY, parked his car near the entrance to the woods, looked around again, and began to slowly walk toward the location of the drugs. There were no other cars in the area, and no one on foot, said police.
Grullon-Rojas picked up the package and walked back to his vehicle. At this point, officers walked toward him and he dropped the package. They saw four identical cigar boxes in his vehicle, all of which were empty, and several corner-baggies. A license check of Grullon-Rojas revealed that he did not have an active driver’s license. Grullon-Rojas was placed under arrest for Trafficking in Heroin, 18-36 grams, and Driving without a License. He was arraigned in Worcester District Court today.
