Just this week, the Boston Bruins raised over $200,000 for the Menard family during a game against the Washington Capitals. On Tuesday night, the Fraternal Order of Leatherheads Society (FOOLS) held a raffle fundraiser for Menard's family in Framingham.
Meanwhile nine local colleges — including Assumption, Holy Cross, Worcester State, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute — have offered free tuition to Menard's three children, Morgan, Joshua, and Hailee.

On Friday, the Dropkick Murphys will play an acoustic benefit show (sold out) at the Worcester Beer Garden to raise money for the Menard family. The fundraiser was planned by the Greg Hill Foundation, the nonprofit founded by for the former WAAF host. (That foundation has already raised about $230,000 for Menard's family in a separate online fundraiser.)
The Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts Foundation is also raising money for the family online and at the Worcester Fire Department Credit Union, 34 Glennie St.
Menard was the ninth Worcester firefighter to die in the line of duty since 1999. He died after a fire in a triple-decker on Stockholm Street on Nov. 13. He rushed in to save a baby and another resident of the home, and helped two colleagues to safety before being overcome by the fire.
A funeral for Menard held on Monday in Worcester attracted over a thousand firefighters from around the world.
