More than 1,800 people from across Greater Boston and New England are expected to gather on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Boston Marriott Copley Place for An Evening with Gurudev: On Power, Presence &amp; Peace.
The evening will feature internationally known humanitarian and spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in a live program of wisdom, guided meditation, music, and audience Q&amp;A. The event is open to adults of all backgrounds, and no prior meditation experience is needed.
The City of Boston is also marking the occasion with a proclamation from Mayor Michelle Wu declaring September 25 “Power, Presence &amp; Peace Day” in recognition of the humanitarian work of Gurudev and the Art of Living Foundation.

The first part of our presentation reviews some pollinator basics. Next, our presenter will discuss what pollinators need and are looking for when choosing where to rest, eat, or lay their eggs--in other words “Habitat”!&nbsp; We will learn about the importance of a habitat, what it is, and how to create and maintain some inviting habitats for pollinators just about anywhere at all!&nbsp; Specifically, the presentation illustrates successful pollinator habitats created in places as different as suburban gardens to apartment decks, and small urban yards and patios to parking lot “hell strips.”&nbsp;&nbsp;
Our presenter, Denise Guérin, is a Certified Massachusetts Master Gardener, graduating in the class of 2022.&nbsp; She fell in love with gardens (and their contents) at a young age while “helping” her father and grandmother in their large family gardens.&nbsp; She volunteers regularly at the Wakefield Arboretum, the Medford Food Pantry Garden, and the MMGA’s new Ohrenberger School Pollinator Garden.&nbsp; Her primary focus is on growing native plants and creating habitat for native bees, birds and insect pollinators.&nbsp; She is a graduate of the MMGA Speakers Bureau Training Program.

<ul><li>Go on a tractor ride through the fields around the campus.</li><li>Go inside our state-of-the-art anatomy lab to see plastination samples and large animal skeletons. </li><li>Visit the Joseph Kelley, D.V.M. Simulation Lab to view and touch simulation animal models.</li><li>Participate in hands-on learning activities, including horseshoe painting, pinecone bird feeders, and more about the Cummings School programs.</li><li>Bring your stuffies to get their boo-boos bandaged at our teddy bear clinic.</li><li>Stop by the SAVMA store table to pick up some merch.</li><li>Learn about Tufts PAWS for People program, a therapy animal program that provides education, evaluation and mentorship for individuals looking to do visits with their pet. </li><li>Grab food at Elm's Cafe.</li></ul>
For the safety of the demonstration animals and all visitors, pets are not allowed on campus during the event. Service animals will continue to be welcome.
Tufts Wildlife Clinic, Henry and Lois Foster Hospital for Small Animals, and Hospital for Large Animal will only be open for scheduled appointments and emergencies and not part of the Open House event.

Imagine putting on a pair of headphones, closing your eyes, leaving the outside world behind and giving yourself permission to simply breathe. 9D Breathwork is an immersive breathwork experience that combines intentional breathing techniques with a carefully designed soundscape delivered through headphones. Depending on the journey, the experience may incorporate guided coaching, visualization, hypnotic-style suggestions, binaural audio and other sound-based techniques designed to create a deeply immersive environment for self-exploration and reflection. But you don't need to understand all of the technology to experience it. You simply need to show up and breathe. Each journey is different. Some are designed around themes such as letting go, stress and anxiety, self-worth, reconnecting with yourself, emotional release or deep relaxation. And every person's experience is uniquely their own. You may feel emotional. You may feel peaceful. You may gain a new perspective.
