This Halloween, Worcester Fitness is collecting treats and small gifts for the children and families supported by Why Me & Sherry’s House. We’d love your help making the holiday a little brighter.
Why Me began in Worcester in 1985, during her own four-year battle with cancer, when 13-year-old Sherry Shepherd looked for ways to lift the spirits of other children in treatment. With help from her father, Terry, she founded Why Me to support children with cancer and their families. Today, the organization offers family programs and practical support, while Sherry’s House provides a welcoming place for families during a child’s treatment.
Here’s what we’re collecting:
- Bagged candy
- Halloween-themed snacks, such as pretzels, popcorn, and cookies
- Small Halloween novelties, such as stickers, glow sticks, spider rings, pencils, and little toys
Please bring your donations to Worcester Fitness by October 9. Every contribution helps us share a bit of Halloween fun with local families going through a difficult time.
