WORCESTER, MA —Head to Worcester on New Year's Eve for an educational, bedtime-friendly event to celebrate in the new year.

The EcoTarium natural history museum will host a "noon year's eve" event beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday featuring two ball drops — 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. — and educational family activities. The event will also allow kids to check out the "Fire and Ice" program covering everything from hibernation to how fire works.

"Families can also make a time capsule for their past year, add a 2022 resolution to the resolution wall, participate in 'Fire and Ice' education programs, and more!" the museum said of the event.

Daytime New Year's events have become a popular activity for families in recent years, offering kids the opportunity to celebrate the end of a year without staying up until midnight. The EcoTarium requires all visitors over age 2 to wear a mask while inside the museum.
