Central MA Fabric Outlet To Close After 16 Years
Business owners said age and health issues have made it impossible to continue operating.

AUBURN, MA — A longtime fabric store in Worcester County will close next month after serving customers for 16 years.
Auburn Fabric Outlet, which is a fabric and sewing supply store, will close Dec. 19, the business announced on Friday. Business owners said age and health issues have made it impossible to continue operating.
“This is extremely difficult for the employees as well, but we will continue to offer discount fabrics and excellent customer service until the day we say goodbye,” the store said in its announcement.

Auburn Fabric Outlet opened at 773 Southbridge St. in 2010 and sells clothing and home décor fabrics, quilting supplies, trims, notions, ribbons and other materials.
The closing follows the sale of the store’s 10,268-square-foot building for $725,000 to P&AK Family LP, the Telegram & Gazette reported. The new owner also owns the neighboring property at 771 Southbridge St. The former store building is being marketed for lease or redevelopment.

The store thanked customers who have supported the business and encouraged them to visit before the final day.
“It has been a pleasure serving Central Massachusetts in the fabric business for the past 16 years,” the announcement said. “It’s been a wonderful ride. We will miss you all for sure.”
