DCU for Kids Awards $7,500 to A Bed for Every Child

Grant Will be Used to Distribute Beds to Children in Need in Worcester Area

DCU for Kids, the charitable foundation of DCU - Digital Federal Credit Union, has awarded Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless $7,500 for its A Bed for Every Child Initiative. “We are so grateful for this generous grant which will enable us to distribute beds to children who don’t have a bed of their own in the Worcester area,” says Robyn Frost, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless. A Bed for Every Child has distributed over 4,000 beds to children who don’t have a bed of their own in the Commonwealth and has launched a campaign to raise funds to distribute 1,500 beds this year.

“Economic factors continue to make it a more difficult thing for families to pay for heating costs, or to provide their children with a warm bed to sleep in at night. DCU for Kids is proud to collaborate with impactful organizations such as the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless and their A Bed for Every Child program to ensure that every child has a bed to call his or her own,” stated Laurie LaChapelle, chair of DCU for Kids, the 501(c)3 charitable foundation of DCU - Digital Federal Credit Union.

“The support from the credit union community including DCU and the Cooperative Credit Union Association will add up to many children who don’t have a bed to be given beds to get a good night’s sleep. This grant will have a positive impact on the well-being of so many children ,” says Frost.
