Worcester JetBlue Flights To FL: That Did Not Age Well

JetBlue Announcement To Start Orlando and Fort Myers Service Has Not Aged Well

I keep in touch with a group of friends from college through a group text, BC Boyz. At least once per month someone will find an old post from another member of the group with the comment "that did not age well;" for example, someone may have posted the Bruins will win the Stanley Cup when the playoffs started.

Initially when the new services was announced by JetBlue, we were all excited to get Orlando back and new service to Fort Myers. Great news, until later on that same week, we found out that when Orlando starts in June, we lose both daily JetBlue flights to JFK. Although we tried to convince ourselves that this was still good news, sorry it's not. This overall is a loss.

Meanwhile, if you look at JetBlue in Boston in July, they will have ten daily flights to JFK. Let that sink in: 10 daily flights from Boston to JFK. But one hour away, Massport/JetBlue did not think two flights in Worcester to JFK is a good plan? This is a huge blow to Worcester, since we literally could connect to anywhere in the world with this JetBlue hub at JFK.

Now we basically have a hard time connecting anywhere with the late departure times American and Delta have flying out of Worcester. On the FLYORH Blog, we are unable to fly to popular destinations in Florida with American through JFK without having to make two stops.

This tweet definitely did not age well. Once the JetBlue flight ends, Austin is not one step away with either Delta (LaGuardia) or American (JFK).

Although our Airport Director is excited about this new news from JetBlue

We are not so excited. Now that we lost the two daily flights to JFK. We should fight to keep these two flights and change the Delta and American flights to depart early. That would be exciting.
