Police Recover Man's Body From CT River
Massachusetts State Police say the man was last seen in the water near the railway bridge and Memorial Bridge early Saturday morning.
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Updated 2:30 p.m.: Massachusetts State Police divers recovered the body of a man from the Connecticut River Saturday afternoon. The man was last reported seen in the river following a car crash Saturday morning.
According to state police, the man was reported to have been seen in the river between the old railway bridge and the Memorial Bridge not long after crashing his vehicle around 7 a.m.
West Springfield Police say the state police dive team took over the water search around 8:30 Saturday morning. The local fire department assisted in the search throughout the morning as well.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time. The man's identity has not been released at this time.
