Dog is 'Desperate for a Foster Home': Shelter Stories
The Worcester Animal Rescue League has once again issued a call for a foster family for Maybelle.

WORCESTER, MA—The Worcester Animal League is issuing a desperate call for a foster family to take in Miss Maybelle.
Can you help?
Maybelle has heartworm, a dangerous disease where worms have invaded her heart. If not treated, heartworm can kill a pet. Sadly, heartworm is completely preventable with monthly medication, said the release from WARL.
The good news is treatment is fairly successful and Maybelle is ready to get well. For her success and recovery, she would do best in a foster home through treatment (about 3 months). Her activity must be restricted so she can recover. This means resting, either in a crate or on a bed. No exercise, no running, and only out to do her "business." Maybelle has a friendly personality with all people. She has yet to meet any children. She must be the only pet in the home. Interested in fostering her, or learning more? Maybelle is a sweet, young girl who loves to play. Fetch is a favorite pastime of hers. Living at home with a fenced yard would be a dream come true. Maybelle enjoys daily walks with our shelter volunteers, and really enjoys her cuddle time with staff on lunch breaks. When Maybelle arrived at WARL she tested positive for heart worm.
