Driver In Fatal Worcester Crash Was Forced Off Highway: Family
Hamad Jaber, 50, of Worcester, died in the crash last Friday near the interchange of I-190 and I-290, according to state police.
WORCESTER, MA — A woman who was involved in a crash last week in Worcester that left her father dead says their vehicle was forced off an I-190 ramp in the moments before the incident.
Hamad Jaber, 50, died just before 8 p.m. on Friday after his Jeep Wrangler toppled off the Burncoat ramp from I-290 onto northbound I-190. Jaber's daughter, Serena, told WCVB that a beige or tan-colored car sideswiped them. Hamad Jaber then swerved to avoid a collision, and ended up driving over the side of the ramp.
Hamad Jaber died at the scene, and Serena Jaber only suffered minor injuries.
State police are still investigating the incident, but did say that a second vehicle may have been involved. Police are asking anyone who may have video footage of the crash to contact the Holden barracks at 508-829-8410.
