Driver Hits Pedestrian, 70, At Worcester Gas Station
The incident happened Monday afternoon at a gas station along Chandler Street, Worcester police said.
WORCESTER, MA — A 70-year-old man was hit by a driver in the parking lot of a downtown-area gas station on Monday, according to police.
The incident happened just before 4 p.m. at the BP station at 30 Chandler St. The pedestrian was sitting in the parking lot when the 78-year-old driver moving out of a parking spot, according to police.
Worcester police said that the pedestrian "slid his body over" at the moment the driver began moving. Police did not immediately announce any charges, and said the incident is still under investigation.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with head and leg injuries, police said.
