Drunk Driver Crashes Into Ambulance, Injures Officer: Police
A 30-year-old Springfield woman faces multiple charges after driving into the back of an ambulance.

SPRINGFIELD, MA — A Springfield Police officer was injured when a drunk driver crashed into an ambulance Sunday night, according to authorities. The officer was brought to the hospital with injuries to his legs but was expected "to be okay," police said.
The officer was standing behind the ambulance when he was struck. The ambulance was there for an unrelated incident.
Rena Gomez, 30, of Springfield, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, speeding at a rate of speed greater than reasonable and proper, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and obstructing an emergency vehicle. She was also taken to the hospital for possible injuries.
