Ex-Dominatrix Guilty Of Murder In 2018 MA Killing: DA

Julia Enright was convicted of second-degree murder by a jury on Monday in the killing of Brandon Chicklis.

WORCESTER, MA — Former dominatrix Julia Enright was convicted on a second-degree murder charge on Monday in the 2018 slaying of Brandon Chicklis.

Enright, 24, stabbed Chicklis to death inside an Ashburnham treehouse in June 2018, according to prosecutors. His body was found several weeks later along Route 119 in Rindge, NH.

Enright's trial lasted several weeks, and much of the focus was what transpired inside that Ashburnham treehouse. Worcester County prosecutors said Enright killed Chicklis, who was 20 at the time, as a gift to her boyfriend. Enright's attorneys said she acted in self-defense when Chicklis tried to rape her, according to news reports.

During the trial, Enright said she planned to have sex with Chicklis, but changed her mind when they went to the treehouse. Prosecutors produced evidence that Enright was had morbid interests, and texted her boyfriend, John Lind, that she would "hopefully have the surprise" for him, an apparent reference to the murder, according to news reports.

Enright will be sentenced by Worcester Superior Court Judge Daniel Wrenn on Jan. 18, Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. said.
