Extensive Investigation Leads to Crack Cocaine, Gun, More Than $4,000 in Cash

A Worcester man was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and illegal possession of a firearm.

WORCESTER, MA—A Worcester man is facing possession of drugs and firearm charges after an extensive narcotic investigation Worcester Police Department's Vice Squad.

On Wednesday, June 8, members of the Vice Squad conducted surveillance on Angelo Gonzalez, 33, 8-B Paris Ave., Worcester.

Around 2 p.m., undercover officers spotted Gonzalez driving his 2006 Honda Accord on Lincoln Street. With search warrants for his car, and home, they pulled him over at 166 Lincoln St.

When officers walked up to the car, Gonzalez rolled up the windows and locked the doors. He refused to unlock the doors, but an officer saw that one of the windows was still down, and he was able to reach in and unlock the car, taking Gonzalez out of the vehicle.

Gonzalez's car was towed, and his apartment searched. During the search, they found that Gonzalez also lives at 11 Dorchester St. In the Paris Ave. apartment, police found 10 bags of crack cocaine a digital scale, packaging materials and cutting agents.

Gonzalez was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Class B Substance with the Intent to Distribute. A search of Gonzalez produced $1,720 in cash.

After getting a warrant to search the Dorchester Street apartment, officers found in the basement and first floor several rounds of long gun ammunition. Searching the rest of the apartment, officers found a shotgun along with numerous shotgun shells and $4,319 in cash.

Gonzalez was also charged with Improper Storage of a Firearm, 2 counts of Possession of Ammunition and Firearm without an FID Card, and a Firearm Violation Involving Two Prior Violent/Drug Crimes.

Gonzales was arraigned Friday at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
