Fitchburg Man Arrested In Worcester Fatal Shooting

WORCESTER, MA — A joint investigation by several local police departments has led to the arrest of a Fitchburg man following the shooting death of a Worcester woman last month.

Felicia Obeng, 41, was shot and killed at her 629 Cambridge St. home on July 16. A second woman was wounded in the shooting.

Worcester police said Keith Jones, 32, was arrested on charges of murder, assault with a gun, assault and battery resulting in serious injury, armed assault with intent to kill and multiple weapons violations.

Obeng, who moved to Worcester from Ghana, left behind two sons ages 10 and 4, according to her friends.

Agnes Ansong, who set up a GoFundMe page for Obeng's children, said Obeng was sitting outside with her mother when the shooting happened.

"A daily routine of getting fresh air outside with her family has caused an enormous devastation no one can understand," Ansong said.

Worcester police worked with Fitchburg police, state police, U.S. Marshals and the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office in investigating the shooting.
