Free Coronavirus Testing In Worcester: Week Of Dec. 7

WORCESTER, MA — Amid an unprecedented rise in new coronavirus cases, Worcester will host three free testing events this week at the Mercantile Center.

On Thursday, Worcester officials announced a one-week increase of more than 1,000 cases, the highest in a weekly period since coronavirus was first detected in the city last spring.

Worcester has been home to free Stop the Spread testing since August, when cases began to pick up after the summer lull. Walk-up testing is being held at the Mercantile Center, while appointment-only drive-up testing is being held at Quinsigamond Community College (call 508-847-0623 to make an appointment).

Here are the dates and times for testing events this week:

  • Dec. 7, noon to 3 p.m., Mercantile Center, 201 Commercial St.
  • Dec. 8, 10, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mercantile Center, 201 Commercial St.
  • Dec. 7, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed noon to 1 p.m.), Quinsigamond Community College, 670 West Boylston St.
  • Dec. 9 and 10, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Quinsigamond Community College, 670 West Boylston St.
  • Dec. 8, 1 to 4 p.m., Quinsigamond Community College, 670 West Boylston St.
