WHITINISVILLE, MA — The freakish ghouls at the Estate of Mind artist collective in Whitinsville will stage its first drive-thru haunted house event this pre-Halloween weekend.

The "Frightinsville" experience will take place at the sprawling Oakhurst Manor complex in the Whitinsville village of Northbridge on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

"Frightinsville is a first-of-its-kind immersive theater psychological thriller. Guests are warned to buckle up for a safari-style haunted hayride through the supernatural, without ever leaving their vehicle," the group said in a news release.

Visitors will be treated to a War-of-the-Worlds–style radio broadcast while driving through a haunted world including pyrotechnics, "gory makeup," custom-made costumes and much more.

The all-ages haunted drive-thru will take place from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. each weekend day for a $36-per-vehicle donation. Find out more about the haunt on the Frightinsville website.
