Funeral Arrangements Announced for Firefighter Christopher Roy

Mourners lined the streets on Monday for fallen firefighter Christopher Roy, who died in a fast-moving apartment fire on Sunday and was brought back to Worcester from the medical examiner in Boston.

The Worcester Fire Department announced calling hours for 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at St. John's Catholic Church at 4 Temple St. Funeral services will also be held at St. John's at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15.

A private family procession will be held from Alfred Roy and Son's Funeral Home to the church. Roy will be laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery, at 162 Webster St.

Roy leaves behind a 9-year-old daughter and other family members. Roy had been with the department for just 2 1/2 years.
