Funeral For Worcester Lt. Jason Menard Set For Monday
Lt. Jason Menard, 39, died early Wednesday morning in a house fire along Stockholm Street.

WORCESTER, MA — A funeral for Worcester Fire Lt. Jason Menard will be held on Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church. The nine-year fire veteran, who died on Wednesday, will then be buried at St. John's Cemetery.
The funeral plans were announced Thursday by Worcester city officials. There will be calling hours for Menard on Sunday at Mercadante Funeral Home, 370 Plantation St.

Calling hours will be held at Mercadante Funeral Home on Sunday, November 17 from 3-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 18 at 11 a.m. at Church, 44 Temple Street, following a private family procession from the funeral home. Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.
Burial will immediately follow the funeral where Lieutenant Menard will be laid to rest at St. John’s Cemetery, Cambridge Street.
Information regarding traffic patterns, street closures and more will be released when available.
Menard died after responding to a fire in a triple-decker at 7 Stockholm St. around 1 a.m. on Nov. 13. According to fire officials, the father of three died after helping two other firefighters escape the inferno. Three other firefighters were injured, and one was still in the intensive-care unit as of Thursday.
