Georgia Firm Fined Over Worcester Lifeguard Labor Law Violations: AG
The company failed to pay its Worcester workers on time, misclassified employees and didn't provide meal breaks, according to the AG.

WORCESTER, MA — A Georgia company that provided lifeguard services in Worcester violated a raft of state labor laws and is facing a five-figure fine, according to Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell.
The state launched an investigation into USA Management, LLC after Worcester employees complained that they were not paid for their work, Campbell said in a news release.
"The investigation revealed that several employees from Worcester were illegally hired as independent contractors, did not receive earned sick leave, did not receive pay stubs, were denied the ability to take meal breaks when working six or more hours and were unpaid for hours worked," Campbell's office said.
The AG's office has cited the company, and will require it to pay $70,000 in penalties. Campbell said there may be other local workers treated similarly by the company.
USA Management, LLC provides pool services in Boston, Cambridge, Springfield and Worcester at facilities like water parks, country clubs and hotels, according to the company. USA Management did not immediately return a request seeking comment.
