Girl, 16, Seriously Injured In Hit-And-Run Crash

Worcester police are searching for the driver of a black sedan they say struck a girl in the crosswalk, breaking her bones, and drove off.

WORCESTER, MA — Police are looking for the driver of a car they said struck a teen girl in the crosswalk before taking off. The victim, 16, suffered serious injuries, including broken bones, but is expected to survive.

Police said the victim was hit around 6:45 a.m. in the intersection of Burncoat and Melrose streets. The car that struck her is described as a black sedan driving east on Melrose Street. Police said it kept driving after hitting her.
