The women allegedly punched the woman, hit her with a golf club, tied her up and burned her with a cigarette, put her in a dog cage.

WORCESTER, MA—Five women have been arrested and face charges after police say they beat up a 35-year-old woman in an apartment, at times using a golf club, burned her with a cigarette and then put her into a dog crate.

On Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, officers got information that there were several women beating up another in an apartment at 6 Mount Pleasant St. The assault was allegedly still happening, and the group had essentially trapped the woman in the apartment while punching and kicking her.

Officers knocked, and no one answered, but they heard noises inside. They forced their way inside and found several people trying to hide in the apartment. They then found the 35-year-old victim, whose face was swollen and she was bleeding.

While searching the apartment, officers found several baggies typically used to package drugs for sale. They also spotted several crack pipes and needles on the floor, as well as ammunition on the top of a dresser, they said.

The woman told officers she was held against her will and beaten by several of the other women that were inside the apartment. She said that earlier in the day, someone told her that a woman by the name of Lillian Salgado wanted to speak with her.

Around 1 p.m., the victim went to the address and was welcomed. When she went inside, two others began to punch her in the face. Another struck her on the head with a golf club while she was being kicked and hit by other women. At one point, said authorities, the women tied her hands and legs with tape and left her on the living room floor. They also cut her hair and burned her with a lit cigarette before pushing her inside a dog cage, where she remained for a while.

Police said the woman was brought to a hospital where she she was treated and released. A search of the apartment produced a small bag that contained crack cocaine, a digital scale, plastic sandwich baggies (used for street level drug sales), a bag that contained cyclobenzaprine, a .45 caliber bullet, a cellphone and $55.00 in cash.
